In such a context lightness means transportability and maneuverability.  <\/p>\n<h2>True three-dimensional printing<\/h2>\n<p>Lightness, long life and good vibration dampening performance for a more agile ride have decreed the success of carbon fibers in the two-wheel world. Components are designed and tested in software that manages the entire design workflow: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the three-dimensional analysis of the part<\/li>\n<li>Choosing the optimal fiber orientation with AFEA (additive finite element analysis) modules<\/li>\n<li>temperatures<\/li>\n<li>print paths<\/li>\n<li>pickup<\/li>\n<li>material deformation<\/li>\n<li>residual stresses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Plastic composites ensure lightweight<\/h2>\n<p>PEEK is the material that makes up the structure of the bike. It is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic polymer with excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties that are maintained even at high temperatures. <\/p>\n<p>Because of its toughness, for which in fact it is considered a technopolymer, PEEK is used to manufacture items used in demanding applications, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the ball bearings<\/li>\n<li>piston parts<\/li>\n<li>pumps<\/li>\n<li>valves<\/li>\n<li>HPLC columns<\/li>\n<li>compression plates<\/li>\n<li>In cable insulation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The PEEK resin used in the construction of Arevo&#8217;s signature bike , is integrated with continuous 12k carbon filaments, is five times stronger than titanium at 1\/3 the weight. The compound is deposited thanks to the heat developed by the laser placed in the print head, equipped with a vision system for optical inspection, and cures in seconds. <\/p>\n<h3>From wheels to wings<\/h3>\n<p>The vehicle has generated interest in the cycling world, so Arevo is making arrangements with manufacturers in the industry to offer the commuter bike to all cycling enthusiasts by the end of the year. What is extraordinary, however, is that it has succeeded in demonstrating the potential of a versatile technology in its choice of materials. In fact, it can employ:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>polyamide<\/li>\n<li>PEKK<\/li>\n<li>PAEK<\/li>\n<li>PPS<\/li>\n<li>reinforcements with glass and aramid fibers also mixed together.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, it is possible to vary the shape and diameter of the filament , which aims to provide high productivity in composite machining for the automotive and aerospace markets.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, Arevo CEO Mr. Miller notes, &#8220;We are currently working on a dedicated aviation component that measures 2.5 x 1, 5 meters.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Further proof of the infallibility of plastic composites and their infinite possibilities for use.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The combination of the potential of plastic composites and 3D printing have revolutionized the two-wheeled world, resulting in an innovative design and high-performance bicycle.
